Pool Financing

Pool Financing

Plan the complete pool project around a payment that works for you.

A fiberglass pool is a major home investment, and financing can make it possible to plan around the complete backyard project instead of making decisions based only on the pool shell. Nexus gives homeowners access to two independent financing paths—HFS Financial and Acorn Finance—so you can explore the approach that best fits your project and financial situation.

Finance the project—not just the pool shell

A realistic pool budget can include much more than the fiberglass shell. Depending on the property and selected scope, the complete project may involve excavation, site access work, pool delivery and placement, plumbing, electrical work, equipment, backfill, drainage, decking, permits, inspections and optional features such as heating, automation and lighting.

Defining the likely project scope before choosing a loan amount can help you avoid financing too little and then having to cover important construction items separately.

Two financing paths to explore

Nexus does not make lending decisions. These services are provided by independent financing companies, and all approvals, loan amounts, rates, terms and funding decisions are determined by the applicable lender. The difference is primarily in how each service approaches the search for financing.

POOL & HOME-IMPROVEMENT FINANCING SPECIALIST

HFS Financial

HFS Financial specializes in home-improvement financing and works with homeowners on projects including swimming pools. Rather than operating as a traditional bank, HFS works to connect qualified borrowers with lending options for their project.

Why you might start with HFS

  • Your primary goal is financing a substantial pool or backyard-improvement project.
  • You prefer a financing path focused specifically on home-improvement projects.
  • You want to explore a longer-term project loan rather than treating the pool as a typical consumer purchase.

Best fit to explore first: homeowners who already have a good idea of the complete project they want to finance and want a pool/home-improvement-focused financing process.

HFS or Acorn: which should I choose?

Consider HFS when…

You want to begin with a company whose financing process is centered on home-improvement projects such as swimming pools and you have a reasonably defined project amount in mind.

Consider Acorn when…

You want to comparison-shop potential offers across a network of lenders and evaluate different combinations of rate, term and monthly payment.

You do not need to choose based on the Nexus relationship. The objective is to find financing that makes sense for your household and your project. Review the disclosures and terms presented by each provider before proceeding with any loan.

What to compare before accepting financing

The lowest monthly payment is not automatically the least expensive loan. When comparing offers, look at the complete structure of the financing.

APR
Compare the annual percentage rate, not just the advertised interest rate.
Loan term
A longer term can reduce the monthly payment while increasing total interest paid.
Monthly payment
Choose a payment that fits comfortably alongside your other household obligations.
Total repayment
Review the total amount you would repay if the loan is carried for its full term.
Fees
Review origination fees or other charges disclosed by the lender and how they affect proceeds and total cost.
Funding & conditions
Understand final approval requirements, funding timing and any conditions before relying on financing for construction.

When should I apply?

You can explore financing early to understand what payment range may be realistic, but it is helpful to have a reasonably complete project estimate before committing to a final loan amount. The Nexus planning process is intended to identify the major scopes that can affect the complete project budget.

  1. Talk with Nexus. Discuss your property, goals, pool size, features and approximate budget.
  2. Develop the project scope. Identify the pool, equipment and major site/construction requirements.
  3. Establish a realistic financing target. Consider the complete project rather than only the shell or equipment.
  4. Explore HFS and/or Acorn. Review the financing options available to you.
  5. Compare the actual offers. Evaluate APR, payment, term, fees and total repayment before choosing.

Important financing information

Nexus is not a lender and does not determine credit eligibility, loan approval, interest rates, APRs, loan amounts, repayment terms or funding. HFS Financial, Acorn Finance and participating lenders are independent third parties. Financing availability and terms depend on the applicant, lender criteria, location and other factors. Pre-qualification is not a guarantee of final approval or funding.

Any loan should be evaluated based on the lender's current disclosures and your own financial circumstances. Financing programs and lender terms can change, so the information presented by the financing provider during your application controls.

Plan first. Finance intelligently.
